Greetings this April, 2006, from BELIZEmagazine.com - The Internet Magazine of Belize.

In this Volume three, edition two, we are pleased to have Mr. Michael Polonio, the President of the Garifuna Council of Belize, as our interview guest for '20 Questions'. Mr. Polonio gives an insight into the Garifuna perspective within Belize.

Our features in the April 2006 edition include a look at the seemingly endless debate over paving the road down the Placencia Peninsula. We also discuss what it means to be a real estate agent in paradise and the situation and concerns regarding crime in Belize. Steve Gaskin from the United States presents a report on the Sittee River for our environmental concerns in the BelizeRivers.org report.

'Adventures with Charley Wolf', a fictional account about Belize based upon news content gathered throughout the year that looks at the country from the perspective of a European family that relocates to the land by the Caribe Sea, has Charley telling about his loan to a local man named Ernesto, a Maya man that outwits the gringo time and again.

In our very popular 'Tropical Backyard Birding', we examine the King Vulture-Sarcoramphus papa. Our 'Profiles In Culture' reports about Alberto Arias a naturalized Belizean we met named report on another Belizean success story about a man that strives to be the best he can in a land of challenges and contradictions. 'A Bit of Caribbean History' we venture from Belize to Haiti to examine the role that island nation has played in the region.

The Maya Island Airways 'Welcome Onboard' article takes our readers to tha far southern Belize outpost of Punta Gorda. It’s also in the Toledo District where 'It's a Plant's Life too' checks in again with Yvonne and Alfredo Villoria of ‘Dem Dats Doin’. This edition reviews the guidebook ‘Frommer’s Belize by Eliot Greenspan. In the 'Happy Hour-Tropical Cocktails' presented by Travellers Liquors Ltd., the distillers and distributors of the pride and joy of Belize 'One Barrell Rum', tells our readers how to mix a Golden Eye.

The 'Secret's of the Belizean Kitchen' presented by Grace-Kennedy Ltd., distributors of find food products in Belize and around the world provides a recipe for Chicken Curry in Coconut Milk. 'Health Matters' looks into the potentially devastating pandemic caused by the H5N1 virus, aka, Bird Flu’ while 'The Archaeological Wonders of Belize' explores the Belize Maya site Altun Ha and The 'Living Wild' section looks at Potos Flavus, the Kinkajou.

We are especially pleased to highlight in 'Where to Eat in Paradise' our close friends owner Wende Bryan and her manager sister Denise Williams at one of our favorite eating establishments in all of Belize, Placencia’s ‘ The Pickled Parrot Bar, Grill & Cabanas’. We are also in Placencia for 'Life's A Beach' where we have the vantage point of one of the ‘barefoot perfect’ stretches in all of Belize at Chabil Mar Villas, luxury in paradise.
