Letter from the Publisher

This fourth Edition of BELIZEmagazine.com 'The Internet Magazine of Belize' completes our first year online. It has been a very exciting and rewarding time and we are looking forward to continuing our work in 2005 and beyond.

In retrospect, BELIZEmagazine.com's '20 Questions' interviews in 2004 brought us up close and personal with Prime Minister Said Musa, Marie Sharp, Zee Edgell and Pen Cayetano.

This past year BELIZEmagazine.com explored the Golden Stream, the Moho River, the Rio Grande River and the Temash River. BELIZEmagazine.com also visited the archaeological sites at Nim Li Punit, Lubaantun, Caracol, Pusilha, and Actun Tunichil Muknal Cave.

BELIZEmagazine.com took it's readers fly fishing for permit off Morris Caye, boating across the waters of The Port of Honduras Marine Reserve, and diving the Miss Pamela dive site off Placencia. Our readers learned about Cassava, Seagrapes, Cashews, Grapefruits and the Craboo tree.

BELIZEmagazine.com featured health tips as well as cooking recipes such as Baked Red Snapper in Coconut, Belizean Fish Cere and Curried Coconut Caribbean Lobster.

BELIZEmagazine.com presented state of the art photographic expeditions and articles about the Snake Cayes, Shark Ray Alley, Ricardo and Susy Zetina's Little Old Craft Store, Victoria Peak, the Placencia Lobsterfest, Confederate Settlements in Belize, La Ruta Maya River Challenge and the Great Blue Hole, and much, much more. Please use our search function to find all articles on any specific topic.

In this fourth Edition of BELIZEmagazine.com, we are delighted to present to you eighteen articles, interviews and reports, complimented by over sixty previously unpublished photographs. We would like to thank our staff writers, photographers and in-house support for the hours upon hours of hard work required to bring you this edition of BELIZEmagazine.com - The Internet Magazine of Belize. For her contributions, we would like to thank Lisa Carne for her article contributions about local Belizean plants and marine animals.

We would also like to thank our advertisers for making this edition possible. As with all advertising revenues, a portion of all ad dollars from BELIZEmagazine.com go directly towards the funding of BelizeRivers.org, an environmental initiative for the promotion & protection of the rivers of Belize.

In closing, we hope that you will enjoy BELIZEmagazine.com-The Internet Magazine of Belize by using the arrows at the top and bottom of each page, just like turning the pages of a print magazine.
